WATCH: Lindsey Graham 2.0 Wants to “Sanction the Hell” Out of Saudi Arabia

OK, so I know this is a very serious topic, but can I just take a moment to say how thrilled I am that the post-Kavanaugh, rebranded Lidnsey Graham 2.0 appears to be here to say.

The Senator, traditionally often branded as a RINO, seems to have found his voice during the Kavanaugh hearings, and it’s a loud, righteously angry one.

Speaking on the disappearance and likely murder of journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the hands of the Saudi Government, Graham recently made very clear that the Saudis need to be held strictly accountable for their actions if they are responsible for Khashoggi’s death.

Khashoggi, who is a US citizen, a contributor to The Washington Post, and an outspoken critic of the Saudi government, has not been seen since he entered a Saudi consulate in Turkey on October 2nd.

The Turkish government, The Hill reports, claims that the Saudis murdered and dismembered him on orders from the Riyadh government, headed by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

So far, Prince Salman, who is seen as a moderate and has enjoyed a friendly relationship with the Trump administration, flatly denies this account.

It is currently being reported that the Saudis are preparing to announce that Khashoggi’s death was the result of a botched interrogation.

Graham is having none of it, and spoke directly, and firmly, to the Saudi government on Fox this week.

From The Daily Wire:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who felt “personally offended” by Khashoggi’s disappearance, has called on President Trump to sanction Saudi Arabia as punishment for their actions.

“It’s up to the president,” Graham said on Fox News. “I know what I’m going to do: I’m going to sanction the hell out of Saudi Arabia.”

Graham called himself a defender of Saudi Arabia while stressing the U.S. cannot “do business” with the country under Salman’s reign.

“This guy is a wrecking ball. He had this guy murdered,” Graham said. “To expect me to ignore it, I feel used and abused.”

Graham then turned to the camera and pleaded with the country itself. “Saudi Arabia, if you’re listening, there are a lot of good people you can choose, but MBS has tainted your country and tainted himself,” Graham said.

This is exactly the kind of language we need to be using, not only for the Saudis, but anyone who wants to mess with American citizens. We do not play. We look out for our own. And we will not stand by while American journalists are murdered.

Stick around, Lindsey 2.0. We love ya.
