US Army Twitter Account Catches Flak For Post Bragging About Army’s ‘Chief Diversity Officer’

The United States Army’s Twitter account got slaughtered online after it decided to make a post bragging about their new efforts to increase diversity in the armed forces.

“Extremism can tear apart cohesive teams,” the post read. “Col. Timothy Holman is the Army’s chief diversity officer and his aim is clear: do what he can to help open a path for future Army leaders and make the force as diverse as the nation it defends.”

To say this post was not well received would be an understatement. People posted up some pretty harsh, but obviously deserved rebukes on the tweet.

“No wonder we don’t win much any more,” one user said.

Truer words have never been spoken.

Apparently the Army isn’t very diverse. Which totally isn’t true as it’s one of the most diverse institutions we have in this country.

via Washington Examiner:

The Army’s social media post comes during a particularly rough week for U.S. military accounts, after the U.S. Marine Corps was forced to backtrack after one of its official accounts attacked Fox News host Tucker Carlson.

“What it looks like in today’s armed forces @TuckerCarlson. Get right before you get left, boomer,” the II MEF Information Group said in a since-deleted Twitter post.

The post was deleted, and the unit apologized amid the onslaught of backlash.

“We are human and we messed up,” the unit said. “We intended to speak up for female Marines, and it was an effort to support them. They are a crucial part to our corps, and we need them to know that. We will adjust fire and ensure the utmost professionalism in our tweets.”

We need to focus on making sure the Army is equipped to actually do their job, which means winning wars. The last thing we need to be spending our money on as a nation is diversity crap. Especially seeing as the Army and other branches of the armed forces are already diverse.

This is a waste of resources.
