President Donald Trump has issued a direct order for the United States Navy to destroy any Iranian military vessels that conduct provocative maneuvers near US ships that are in the Persian Gulf.
Tweeting on Wednesday morning, the president said, “I have instructed the United States Navy to shoot down and destroy any and all Iranian gunboats if they harass our ships at sea.”

Here’s more from The Washington Examiner:
U.S. Naval Forces Central Command said last week that 11 small vessels belonging to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy conducted “dangerous and harassing approaches” toward U.S. ships.
The U.S. ships were conducting operations with Army Apache helicopters in the northern Persian Gulf, the statement said.
According to a statement released by a Navy spokesman, Iranian vessels “repeatedly crossed the bows and sterns of the U.S. vessels at extremely close range and high speeds.”
One thing is for sure. When you come at us like this, especially after we graciously offered to help your people out during this global pandemic, it sets back relations between countries significantly.
The government in Iran has no respect for us or their own people. They are going to keep pushing buttons until, finally, some sort of retaliation happens on a grand scale.
Here’s to hoping that doesn’t happen any time soon. The last thing the world needs while going through a pandemic is a war.
