Trump Delivers Response To New Report Saying Iran Is Plotting To Assassinate U.S. Ambassador

President Trump has officially responded to a new report that came out on Sunday that indicates that the Islamic Republic of Iran might be putting together plans to assassinate a U.S. ambassador by saying that any such attack by the Middle Eastern country would be met with a response that would be “1,000 times greater in magnitude.”

That, ladies and gentlemen, is the kind of leadership we need to shut up and shut down out of control Islamist countries like Iran.

“According to press reports, Iran may be planning an assassination, or other attack, against the United States in retaliation for the killing of terrorist leader Soleimani, which was carried out for his planning a future attack, murdering U.S. Troops, and the death & suffering caused over so many years,” Trump tweeted. “Any attack by Iran, in any form, against the United States will be met with an attack on Iran that will be 1,000 times greater in magnitude!”

Trump’s tweet came in response to a report from Politico that said that U.S. intelligence officials believed that Iran was weighing a plan to assassinate Lana Marks, U.S. Ambassador to South Africa, in retaliation for the U.S. strike that killed Soleimani at the start of the year.

“U.S. officials have been aware of a general threat against the ambassador, Lana Marks, since the spring, the officials said,” Politico reported. “But the intelligence about the threat to the ambassador has become more specific in recent weeks. The Iranian embassy in Pretoria is involved in the plot, the U.S. government official said.”

Folks, Iran is practically begging for someone to come along with a very large stick and put them squarely back into their place. What they don’t understand is that if we, the United States, are carrying that big stick, there won’t be much of their forces left. Perhaps now is a good time for them to reconsider their “plans?”

No one wants to go to war with Iran. That’s not what anyone wants to have happen. Wars are costly. So let’s hope Iran opts to be quiet and back off making threats. If they don’t, bad things will result, that much is guaranteed.
