New Poll From Iowa Reveals Majority Of Voters Disapprove Of Biden’s Job Performance

A brand new poll put out by the Des Moines Register/Mediacom, reveals that a majority of voters in the state of Iowa are unhappy with and disapprove of, the job being done by President Joe Biden.

Less than one-third of Iowa voters, which is 31 percent, approve of the job he’s doing in office, while 62 percent disapprove and 7 percent stated they weren’t sure.

The poll marks a 12-percentage-point drop in approval for Biden since June, the last time it surveyed the president’s job performance.

While the partisan breakdown of the poll shows that the vast majority of Republicans disapprove of the president’s job performance and a majority of Democrats approve, a majority of political independents, 62%, also disapprove, while 29% approve.

The Des Moines Register noted that Biden’s job approval rating is currently lower than former President Donald Trump’s “worst showing in the Iowa Poll.” The Iowa Poll recorded Trump’s worst approval rating in December 2017 , when 60% of Iowans said they disapproved of his job performance.

“This is a bad poll for Joe Biden, and it’s playing out in everything that he touches right now,” Pollster J. Ann Selzer, who works for the Des Moines Register, went on to say.

Over the course of the last 10 years, Iowa has made a major shift to the political right. From 1992 to 2012, voters in Iowa often mirrored the results happening at the national level. But then in 2016, Trump took Iowa by 10 percentage points, which led to his outperforming Hillary Clinton.
