New Emails Reveal Dr. Fauci Said Masks Were Not ‘Really Effective’ At Stopping COVID

In a bunch of emails that were released after a Freedom of Information Act request, Dr. Anthony Fauci has been busted saying last year that masks were not needed unless a person was sick and noted that the particles of the virus were able to pass through the masks with ease.

Yeah. That seems a whole lot different than the bill of goods we were being sold by Fauci, doesn’t it?

“Masks are really for infected people to prevent them from spreading [an] infection to people who are not infected rather than protecting uninfected people from acquiring infection,” Fauci said in an email to a person who is thought to be Obama-era Health and Human Services Secretary Sylvia Burwell back in February 2020.

“The typical mask you buy in the drug store is not really effective in keeping out [the] virus, which is small enough to pass through the material. It might, however, provide some slight benefit in [keeping] out gross droplets if someone coughs or sneezes on you,” Fauci continued.

“I do not recommend that you wear a mask, particularly since you are going to a [very] low-risk location. Your instincts are correct, money is best spent on medical countermeasures such as diagnostics and vaccines,” he added in the email.

The email was shared online after BuzzFeed News published more than 3,200 pages of Fauci’s emails written from January 2020 to June 2020, and the Washington Post published 866 pages of his emails written between March 2020 and April 2020.

The correspondence, which was released to the public on Tuesday, sparked backlash on social media.

“It was always about politics. Not the science,” Republican Rep. Jim Jordan said in a post published on Twitter.

Here are a couple of other good responses from Twitter:

Hey, remember back in January 2020 when Fauci stated that the coronavirus “isn’t something the American public needs to worry about?”

“It’s a very, very low risk to the United States,” he went on to say. “It isn’t something the American public needs to worry about or be frightened about.”

The very next month Fauci told the people of the United States they did not need to wear a mask.

“If you look at the masks that you buy in a drugstore, the leakage around that doesn’t really do much to protect you,” he said during that time.

Why would anyone continue to trust this guy?
