Minnesota Attorney General Says There’s No Evidence That Death Of George Floyd Motivated By Race

Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has stated in an interview with “60 Minutes” that there was zero evidence that race was a motivational factor in the way police handled the situation with George Floyd that ended his life.

These comments come not long after the trial ended for former Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin who was found guilty of being the cause of Floyd’s death.

Ellison stated that nothing in the case seemed to indicate a “hate crime” had taken place, nor was there any evidence of racial bias.

“I wouldn’t call it that because hate crimes are crimes where there’s an explicit motive and of bias,” Ellison went on to say in the interview. “We don’t have any evidence that Derek Chauvin factored in George Floyd’s race as he did what he did.”

This was the same conclusion reached by former U.S. Attorney General William Barr.

“I think the narrative that the police are on some, you know, epidemic of shooting unarmed black men is simply a false narrative and also the narrative that that’s based on race,” Barr stated just a month ago. “The fact of the matter is very rare for an unarmed African American to be shot by a white police officer.”

Ellison, a former Democratic representative to the U.S. Congress, expressed a degree of sympathy for Chauvin, reminding everyone that “he’s a human being.”

“I’m not in any way wavering from my responsibility,” Ellison continued. “But I hope we never forget that people who are defendants in our criminal justice system, that they’re human beings. They’re people.”

Did Chauvin really have a shot at a fair trial in all of this? I’m not saying one way or the other if he was responsible for the death and such. I’m just wondering, since this verdict was racially motivated, if it even mattered to folks that the man didn’t hate Floyd because of his skin color, nor did he apparently murder him because of it.

It seems liberals wanted to make this a racial case. They hyped up the racial aspects of the whole thing and many members of BLM indicated they were willing to commit acts of violence if Chauvin didnt’ receive a guilty verdict.

Just something to think about.
