Lindsey Graham Slams McConnell; Says He Needs To Unequivocally Oppose Impeachment Of Trump

Sen. Lindsey Graham put Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on blast during an interview with Fox News host Sean Hannity Tuesday evening, stating that he needed to clearly state his opposition to the second impeachment of Donald Trump.

“What we need right now is Sen. McConnell to unequivocally say the second impeachment of Donald Trump after he leaves office is not only unconstitutional, it is bad for the country,” Graham stated, adding that it’s time for the Republican Party to “Stand up and fight back.”

The Epoch Times apparently reached out to McConnell’s office. As of this writing no response has been made.

The House of Representatives impeached Trump last week over alleged incitement of insurrection of the rioters who stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6.

Graham stressed that the nation needs to heal, and “A second impeachment of Donald Trump after he leaves office won’t heal the country, it will further divide the country.”

The senator also said that he agreed with his GOP colleague, Sen. Rand Paul, that a conviction of Trump would destroy the Republican Party.

If Republicans “throw in the towel, or are perceived to having thrown in the towel, and not fighting against this impeachment, the Republican Party, as Rand Paul said, will ‘crack up,’” Graham said.

Well, we all are familiar enough with McConnell at this point to know he’s not much more than an establishment hack. He’s dedicated solely to furthering his own interest, not doing what is best for the party for the American people.

The establishment hated Trump with a passion. He took a wrecking ball to their comfortable hold on the GOP and restored it back to the people. That’s not something folks are going to be letting go of, so if McConnell wants to keep his job, he better get on board with what Graham is talking about.
