Graham Says If Dems Call Witnesses At Impeachment Trial, He’ll Call Democrats Who Used Inflammatory Language

Sen. Lindsey Graham is not playing around and he wants his Democratic Party colleagues to know it. Graham has said that if Democrats call witnesses in the second impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump, he’s going to call Democrats to take the stand themselves.
Graham has been a fairly ardent supporter of the president and has argued against having a second impeachment trial. The South Carolina senator said that he’d call Democrats to testify who have made inflammatory comments similar to the ones they accuse Trump of making.
“If the House managers want to call one witness, the defense is going to call all those people you named and then some,” the South Carolina Republican said Monday on Hannity in response to a question about bringing in witnesses, including President Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Rep. Maxine Waters, Sen. Cory Booker, and former Attorney General Eric Holder.
He added, “To my colleagues tomorrow, there are a hundred of us — what we do today is going to make history for the rest of the time America exists. What Democrats have done is basically declare war on the presidency itself.”
Republicans have argued that certain Democrats have made public comments that they argue could be considered an incitement of violence, making them guilty of the same thing they accuse the president of doing, minus the deadly clash that occurred at the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6 as Congress was certifying the election for Biden.
There is no constitutional precedent for impeaching someone who is no longer a president. The punishment outlined in the Constitution requires an active commander-in-chief. The fact that this thing is going forward is utterly ridiculous.
We are seeing the left carry out a vendetta against Trump on the national stage in an attempt to prevent him from running for office in four years.
And, of course, the left has made plenty of remarks far worse than anything the former president could have said, comments that sparked violent protests just last year, but no one held them accountable for it. Hypocrisy at its finest.
