Former President Donald Trump Puts Fox News On Blast After Rehiring Expert Who Called AZ Early In 2020 Election
Former President Donald Trump took Fox News to the woodshed after they decided to rehire the election expert who was responsible for the network’s early call of Arizona in the 2020 presidential election.
Fox News CEO Suzanne Scott recently spoke with the Hollywood Reporter stating that Decision Desk Director Arnon Mishkin is set to be rehired to once again oversee election night coverage for the 2022 midterms and also for the presidential election in 2024.
“I think it’s terrible they hired him back,” Trump went on to tell Newsmax’s John Bachman just before coming out to address an record crowd at Saturday night’s rally, which was held at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in Des Moines. “He made a terrible call. It was a terrible thing to do.”
“When you look at the numbers that came out in the findings from the report … when you look at those numbers, we won Arizona by a lot. We won other states by a lot. It was a rigged election. I think that it’s a disgrace that they hired him back. But that’s the way it is, not like it used to be,” the former president stated.
Fox drew outrage from its viewers when it called Arizona just minutes after polls closed on election night 2020, while still failing to call Florida for Trump, even though voting had closed almost two hours earlier.
Mishkin is a longtime Democrat operative who backed Hillary Clinton in 2016 and donated to Barack Obama’s presidential campaign.
The Associated Press reported that a Republican-backed review of the 2020 presidential election in Arizona’s largest county, Maricopa County, came up with a vote tally that would not have altered the outcome.
Trump issued statements claiming the review found widespread fraud. He urged Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich, a Republican vying for his party’s U.S. Senate nomination, to open an investigation.
“Huge findings in Arizona! However, the Fake News Media is already trying to ‘call it’ again for Biden before actually looking at the facts—just like they did in November!” Trump went on to say in a statement that was put out back on September 24.
“The audit has uncovered significant and undeniable evidence of FRAUD! Until we know how and why this happened, our Elections will never be secure. This is a major criminal event and should be investigated by the Attorney General immediately,” he added.
