Former NBA Player Accuses Trump Of Locking Mailboxes In Burbank, Gets Debunked, But Doubles Down

Democrats are continuing to push hard for universal mail-in voting for the November presidential election, likely because they know they can rig the game easier that way and give the Biden-Harris ticket a little push toward victory against President Donald Trump.

This has led many on the left to make the erroneous claim that the president is attempting to “steal” the election, which is nonsense, seeing as he’s simply trying to protect the system that is already in place.

Some have gone so far as to say that Trump is actually locking mailboxes so people will not be able to vote.

What is considered to be routine USPS maintenance is now being misconstrued to be evidence of wrong doing by the Trump administration.

In fact, former NBA player Rex Chapman posted a tweet on Sunday accusing Trump of locking mailboxes in Burbank, California, stating the president and the GOP are threatening American democracy.

Here’s more from The Daily Wire:

“Burbank, California: In your entire life have you ever seen a LOCKED mailbox at the USPS? Now you have. A disgrace and immediate threat to American democracy. Shame on them. Shame on the GOP. Where are you @senatemajldr?” Chapman tweeted.

The photo was instantly debunked, with many people responding to Chapman’s tweet with an article from 2016 (while Barack Obama was still president) which explained why the mailboxes were locked.

“Turns out that fishing, or stealing mail, has become so common that postal officials have been retrofitting boxes around the San Fernando Valley and other areas to make them more tamper proof, said Richard J. Maher, spokesman for Post Office operations in Los Angeles and Orange counties,” The Los Angeles Daily News reported in April of 2016.

Chapman then responded to Twitchy editor Greg Pollowitz stating the article in question isn’t the reason why the mailboxes are being locked right now. Twitchy then tagged Chapman in a tweet thread from actress Zandy Hartig who has personally debunked the claims of Trump tampering with mailboxes back in August.

There is video of the actress then walking around the other side of the mailbox to show the slots on the opposite side were indeed still open for folks to send out their mail.

And yet, this didn’t prevent Chapman from continuing to double down on his statement, proving that no amount of truth will ever dissuade folks on the left who have simply made up their mind to ignore facts and cling to the narrative.

Chapman retweeted folks like Ice T who shared pictures of locked mailboxes without showing the other side where mail can still be inserted.

You know, the left loves to make fun of folks on the right for being “conspiracy theorists,” yet look what they are pushing right now? They are purposefully avoiding facts, trying to deny reality as it actually is, in order to cling to a delusional narrative of persecution.

Isn’t that a mental illness?

Seems like it meets the criteria from where I’m sitting.
