Local authorities in the state of Florida have arrested a woman who claims she’s an “anarchist” after she damaged Trump campaign signs that were located on private property.
A sheriff’s deputy with Flagler County was doing a patrol on the Palm Coast Parkway Saturday evening when he came across the woman defacing the signs.
The woman told the deputy that she was “tired of the lies,” the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Facebook.
The woman identified herself as Tonya McRae, 42, after the deputy told her it was illegal to provide a false name, which she initially provided
McRae also identified herself as an anarchist when she explained to authorities why she was trying to destroy the signs. She said that she “kind of snapped,” and that she was set off by a sign reading “Women for Trump.”
“I don’t believe, like, if you’re a woman for Trump – he’s a misogynist, he doesn’t respect women, in my opinion,” McRae said. “So I’m like, ‘That’s bull (expletive),’ so I pulled that out, then the one behind it that says ‘Trump 2020,’ I tried to pull that (expletive) out but (the deputy) saw me and he stopped me.”
McRae was then arrested and charged with criminal mischief, along with providing a false name to a police officer.
Folks, this is no way to share your political opinions, no matter who you are voting for. Trump supporters shouldn’t be engaged in this kind of behavior either.
Of course, I’ve never heard of a Trump supporter ever doing this to begin with, so there’s that to consider.
Still, the best way to express your thoughts on who should be president is to get out and vote.
I know, I know.
You’re tired of hearing it. I apologize.
