Fauci Says November Coronavirus Vaccine Still Wouldn’t Reach Majority Of Population For Another Year

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the country’s leading expert in infectious diseases, stated that if a surprise vaccine were to come out in November, it would still be another whole year before it reached the majority of the population.
In an Instagram live session with actress Jennifer Garner, Fauci said, “I think it’s going to be a combination of a vaccine that has been around for almost a year and good public health measures.”
Yes, the good doctor here is saying we should all be doing social distancing and wearing masks and other nonsense for another year. Which will no doubt turn into another year. And another year. And so on.
Nine coronavirus vaccines are currently in late-stage clinical trials and could be approved as early as this fall. President Trump has said vaccine developers are on track to deliver a vaccine as soon as November, just before Election Day, but Fauci has his doubts, saying often that he is “cautiously optimistic” that a vaccine will be made available to the public by the end of 2020.
“It is likely that we will get an answer as to whether or not they’re safe and effective by November or December. And I think that is the most likely. Is it possible that we’ll get an answer before then? Let’s say October? It’s conceivable but unlikely,” Fauci said Thursday.
A vaccine does not have to be deemed 100% effective, or even 85% effective, to immunize people, Fauci added.
“If we have a vaccine that’s a knockout vaccine, that’s 85%-90% effective, I don’t think we’ll get that. I’ll settle for 70% effective,” Fauci stated. “If we get a really good vaccine and just about everybody gets vaccinated, you’ll have a degree of immunity in the general community that I think you can walk into a theatre without a mask and feel like it’s comfortable that you aren’t going to be at risk.”
Folks, this stuff is getting to be a bit ridiculous, don’t you think? Do these people really expect us to keep hunkered down for another year? People need to work. Whole industries could end up shutting down if things don’t start getting back to normal.
There are Democrats who are hoping this is the new normal. Why? Because fear leads to the surrender of liberty, and the surrender of liberty means more power for the government. Scary, but it’s true.
