Fauci Continues Advising Trump, Has Not Had Contact With Biden Coronavirus Transition Team

Everyone’s favorite infectious disease expert — said with loads of sarcasm just in case you couldn’t pick that up — Dr. Anthony Fauci has stated that he hasn’t had any contact with Joe Biden’s COVID-19 transition team and doesn’t see any reason he should quit and join that particular effort when there’s so much to do in fighting the pandemic right now.

“I stay in my lane. I’m not a politician. I do public health things,” Fauci said during an interview conducted on Thursday.

Since January, Fauci has served on President Donald Trump’s White House Coronavirus Task Force, a position that has frequently put him at odds with the president, who has sought to downplay the pandemic and focused instead on opening the economy.

“There’s absolutely no reason and no sense at all for me to stop doing something in the middle of a pandemic that is playing a major role in helping us get out of the pandemic,” Fauci said.

His advice for the apparent president-elect, he said, is “exactly the same” as what he is recommending now — social distancing, avoiding crowds, wearing masks, washing hands. “Public health principles don’t change from one month to another or from one administration to another.”

Fauci doesn’t have a whole lot of fans out in the country due to how wrong about the virus he has been since pretty much the beginning.

Add to that the hypocrisy of demanding people wear a mask while he’s  been caught not wearing one on several occasions, plus the non-stop negative attitude, and well, it’s no wonder he’s not a popular fellow.

It’ll be interesting to see if he flips his attitude here if the election is verified in favor of Biden.
