CNN Talks To ‘Source’ Who Says That If MLB Didn’t Move All-Star Game, Media Would’ve Hounded Players

An alleged “informed source” recently chatted with CNN and stated that the decision to move the All-Star Game by Major League Baseball from Atlanta, Georgia to Denver, Colorado, was partly done to prevent the mainstream media from hounding players about their personal opinion on the topic.

The main reason that folks demanded the game change location is due to Georgia passing a law that requires folks to provide a photo ID in order to be able to vote. Leftists are worried such a law will prevent them from being able to use illegal immigrants to pad their voter rolls.

They haven’t come right out and said that, but it’s there beneath the surface.

In a Twitter thread, CNN anchor Jake Tapper relayed what the anonymous source told CNN regarding the political considerations behind the MLB’s decision. This source told CNN there would have been consequences if they hadn’t pulled the All-Star Game, so they acted proactively. Among those consequences were the fact that a biased media would have repeatedly asked professional baseball players about their own stance on the law and urged them to boycott the state, though the source didn’t say that explicitly.

“MLB officials made the decision because if they didn’t then the decision would be left to individual players, individual All-Stars, some of whom no doubt would have individually boycotted the game themselves,” Tapper posted on Twitter. “In short: There was no way to avoid this becoming political.”

Tapper followed up that tweet with one about how the media would have treated All-Star players for the next several months.

“If MLB hadn’t acted, individual players would certainly have been asked from now until July whether they were boycotting or not. It would have — arguably — become a bigger issue,” Tapper went on to write.

So, yeah. The folks at the MLB are more scared of liberal activists throwing a fit than they are of upsetting the folks of Atlanta. That’s cowardice to the max degree.

The source went on to reveal that the MLB didn’t want to see players harassed by the media which is why they opted to just cave and move the game.

“So @MLB did what they thought was taking one for the team, as it were, trying to protect the individual players and to operate as a cohesive whole, the source tells CNN,” Tapper said in another tweet. “Whatever you think of the decision, that was part of the calculation.”

This is truly sad. Is there nothing safe from the woke mob? Doesn’t anyone have a backbone to stand up against the tyranny of the progressive movement?

Leftists ruined football and basketball, but that wasn’t enough. Had to go and ruin baseball too.
