Biden’s Pick For Secretary Of State Splinters Democratic Party

While the election has yet to be certified, Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden continues to put together his administration in the event that he becomes the next president.

And while many on the left are celebrating the idea they might be rid of President Trump, a man they have hated with a hot, fiery passion for four years, that doesn’t mean they are super thrilled with Biden.

In fact, the more the radical elements within the party look at the choices that Biden is making concerning certain positions in his administration, the less happy they seem to be.

For example, Biden has chosen Tony Blinken to be his secretary of state. This has Rep. Rashida Tlaib very upset. You see, Blinken is Jewish. His stepfather is a Holocaust survivor.

This means he’s likely very friendly toward Israel. And that’s not sitting well with the more radical, anti-Semitic folk in Congress.

via Washington Examiner:

Michigan Rep. Rashida Tlaib, who never endorsed Biden over Sanders, was Blinken’s most vocal critic, pouncing on his approach to Israel.

“So long as he doesn’t suppress my First Amendment right to speak out against Netanyahu’s racist and inhumane policies. The Palestinian people deserve equality and justice,” she tweeted in response to another Sanders backer’s approval.

Tlaib then criticized outgoing Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s opposition to the so-called “Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions” effort, which aims for the end of Israel as an independent, Jewish state. Tlaib, an Israel opponent, described BDS as “a peaceful protest movement” protected by free speech.

“I hope that Mr. Blinken and President-Elect Biden’s Administration will change course from Trump’s State Department & not target or suppress support of Palestinian human rights,” she continued.

Both Tlaib and fellow Muslim Congresswoman Rep. Ilhan Omar have earned a reputation for being extremely hostile toward Israel and Jewish people in general.

Their rhetoric actually got them banned from the nation of Israel. That decision was later reversed, but the trip the two were supposed to take to the country was cancelled by the pair.

You know, for individuals belonging to a party that claims to be about equality and acceptance, they sure are prejudiced, aren’t they?

Tlaib’s comments are not going to age well, but it doesn’t seem the radical left really cares. What they wanted was someone in office they could push more to the left.

Is Joe Biden that guy? Let’s hope we don’t have to find out.
