AOC Makes Call To Overrule Senate Parliamentarian To Push Forward $15 Minimum Wage

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called for her colleagues in the Senate to override the chamber’s parliamentarian and push through a federal minimum wage increase.

“It is utterly embarrassing that ‘pay people enough to live’ is a stance that’s even up for debate,” AOC tweeted out on Tuesday. “Override the parliamentarian and raise the wage. McD’s workers in Denmark are paid $22/hr + 6 wks paid vacation. $15/hr is a deep compromise – a big one, considering the phase in.”

Ocasio-Cortez is one of several prominent Democrats who has called on party leadership to overrule MacDonough and proceed anyway.

“Abolish the filibuster,” Rep. Ilhan Omar, a member of the “the Squad” alongside Ocasio-Cortez, recently tweeted. “Replace the parliamentarian. What’s a Democratic majority if we can’t pass our priority bills? This is unacceptable.”

Party leadership has appeared less inclined to override the ruling, including Sen. Dick Durbin, the second highest ranking Democrat in the Senate, who said Tuesday that a proposed plan to use Vice President Kamala Harris to override the parliamentarian is ill-advised.

“I don’t think that’s going to work,” Durbin went on to say. “I hope that we think very seriously about dealing with the minimum wage in a different venue.”

You can always count on AOC to come up with an idiotic plan to push an idiotic policy. I seriously don’t understand why it is so hard for the radical left to understand that their minimum wage hike will destroy businesses, increase the cost of living, and make it difficult for individuals with no work history to get a job.

Why is this so hard to grasp? There’s plenty of information available that demonstrates these points are true. Could it be they are intentionally ignoring them? I think so.

They want to crash the economy because doing so would eventually lead to putting the means of production in the hands of the government, which is what they have wanted all along.
